Your support has improved the lives of millions of people, including many who don’t have regular access to diabetes education and resources. With your help, we’ve reached over 10 million people from 50 states and over 200 countries this year, and we plan to reach even more people in 2024.

2021: What a Year!

Despite the continued challenges this past year, we still found ways to keep things light while offering open access to diabetes education. We battled it out in blood sugar challenges, we brought you on a road trip, we took you inside our homes and research spaces, and we had a LOT of fun with wigs. TCOYD Champion: John Kamp

Dr. John Kamp was diagnosed with diabetes on his way to Vietnam, and the diagnosis may have saved his life. He became a base reporter and newspaper editor, and then spent a large part of his career working for the Coalition for Healthcare Communication in Washington, DC. He discovered TCOYD relatively recently, but has already become a champion for the power of taking control.

TCOYD Champion: Bob Alden

One of Bob Alden’s greatest passions is volunteering, and he’s logged over 9,000 hours since the catalyst that got him going on this path. He doesn’t have diabetes, but he’s been supporting TCOYD for years, and we’ve been lucky enough to have him on our volunteer team, greeting people at our conferences with his outgoing personality and welcoming smile.

TCOYD Champion: Mike Step

Mike Step dedicated the majority of his career to working for companies that developed diabetes medications because of his enduring passion for improving diabetes treatments. He and his mom continue their mission to help people with diabetes through their generous support of TCOYD.
